This simple leaf has had quite the journey from being plucked from Lake Papaitonga in Horowhenua, scanned, turned into a plate using solar plate etching and finally printed using a 19th century proofing press in the heart of Foxton. A beautiful collaboration between modern and traditional printing technologies.

Insects eat Kawa Kawa with the strongest medicinal properties. Thia simple bug eaten Kawa Kawa heart is a symbol of healing.

Note: all prints will have minor differences, each piece is unique, numbered and signed by the artist.

All profits from this artwork are donated to Women's Refuge and The Backbone Collective who continue to help and advocate for women who are victim/survivors of family violence in New Zealand.
